Caution! Ensure always that the correct polarity is observed on the Jump Start Box wiring. Serious damage to the Jump Start Box will occur if wires are shorted or connected
the wrong way around.
•
Caution & Warning! Failure to connect an ignition supply to the Jump Start Box may cause engine start battery excessive discharge and serious damage to internal components.
•
Fuses should be located as close as possible to the battery positive terminal of each battery bank
•
High current cables must have a current rating higher than that of the associated fuse.
•
Diagram shows typical split charge device contactor. Merlin recommends use of SmartBank Pro as the device can be inhibited when Jump Start Box is operating in 24V mode.
•
The DuoVolt Jump Start Box requires a pair of dedicated 12V batteries. Other loads (such as inverters) must not be run from these batteries as it will cause imbalance.

The auxiliary battery bank can be split charged from the engine battery bank via a split charge device whilst the engine is running. To do this, the control switch must be in the ‘12V’ position. It will not split charge the auxiliary battery bank if the switch is in the ‘Off’ or ‘24V’ position. Merlin recommends use of SmartBank Pro as a split charge device as this can be inhibited when Jump Start Box is operating in 24V mode.
