Three-Way Bass Reflex Car Speaker System
Your RadioShack Three-Way Bass Reflex
Car Speaker System is designed to give you
clean sound with powerful bass. The system
is ideal for rear-deck mounting.
To get the best sound from your speakers,
please read all of these instructions carefully
for the proper wiring and mounting proce-
dures.
BEFORE YOU BEGIN
We recommend that you connect your auto-
sound system to the speakers before you
mount them so you can test the speakers
and the wire connections. When you verify
that everything works properly, turn off your
auto-sound system and mount the speakers.
Note: If you are unsure about the following
installation process, we recommend that you
have a professional install the speakers.
WIRING THE SPEAKERS
Connect the speakers to your auto-sound
system.

Notes:
• If your auto-sound system has a front-to-
rear fader, follow the instructions in the
audio component's manual for the cor-
rect speaker connections.

Right
• To ensure proper phasing, match the
speaker wires to the corresponding red
(+) or black (-) speaker terminals.
Improper phasing can cause poor bass
response.
Cautions:
• Do not connect any of your speaker
wires to chassis ground. Use all four
wires to connect the speakers to your
vehicle's auto-sound system.
• Do not connect four speakers to your
car stereo/amplifier unless it is designed
for a four-speaker connection. See your
stereo/amplifier's owner's manual for
instructions.
ROUTING SPEAKER WIRE
Avoid routing speaker wire near moving
parts or sharp edges. You can usually route
it along the wiring channel beneath the vehi-
cle's door facings by carefully removing the
molding that holds the carpet in place. After
routing the speaker wire, replace the mold-
ing.
MOUNTING THE SPEAKERS
After you have connected the speakers and
turned on your auto-sound system to ensure
that everything is working properly, turn off
your auto-sound system and mount the
speakers.
1. Select a flat area (such as your car's
rear deck) for the mounting surface. The
surface should be sturdy enough to sup-
port the weight of the speakers.
