    ENERAL NFORMATION This document is intended to provide a basic overview, operational description, recommended service intervals, and recommended spare parts for the Oilgear Subsea Pressure Regulators designed for use on 5 and 6 gen control PODs. Model numbers HSR-20-N-01, MSR-20-N-01, and MSR-08-N-01.

    The person(s) working with the regulator should be capable of working with basic hand tools and identifying mechanical components of a hydraulic system. Contact Oilgear for any further training or documentation regarding any issues related to Oilgear supplied equipment.

    2.1.5 Component Life Expectancy Based on the listed operational requirements, Oilgear recommends a seal replacement period of every 5 years. Internal valve parts should be inspected or replaced as needed. Depending on use and operating conditions, preventative maintenance of valve kit components should be considered. Main external components should be evaluated by the user and not subject to any specific maintenance schedule.

  • Page 8 5-Year Overhaul Oilgear recommends a 5-year interval between rebuild/seal overhaul of the regulator based on normal operation and seal life. The 5-year overhaul may be performed on the rig, or the regulator may be sent to an Oilgear facility for recertification.

  • Page 23 Thread the nipple into the reducer then thread into the NPT port on the pilot cap (6). Be sure that the nipple (15) is the straight-through type supplied with the Oilgear HSR. Some legacy regulators use a restricted nipple on the pilot port which may hinder the performance of the Oilgear regulator.

    1. Always vent all pressure from the system prior to removing components. 2. Standby vent leakage is often a sign of an internal problem. For this reason, Oilgear recommends venting the regulator directly to atmosphere through use of a short tube or open port. This allows problems to be more easily traced to a single component.
