Ultimaker S3, Ultimaker S5 R2 Introduction The S-line electronics consist of several components: the mainboard (white), the SOM board (green), and a Wi-Fi module. For certain issues, it is sufficient to replace only the mainboard and transfer the other two components from the old defective mainboard to the new one.

Disassembly Secure the door(s). Place the door fixation tools between the glass doors (Ultimaker S5) or between the door and front panel (Ultimaker S3) to keep the door(s) in place. Tip: This prevents the door(s) from falling open when handling the printer.

Reassembly Place the SOM thermal conductive pad. If the thermal conductive pad is still stuck to the bottom of the SOM board, skip this step. Otherwise, take the pad and align it with the new mainboard. There are two options; some printers have a larger pad and others a smaller one.

Carefully place the printer in its upright position again. You can now remove the door fixation tools, reconnect the power cable, and turn on the printer again. Questions?
