1 - INTRODUCTION
This quick guide shows how to connect the AA128
Wireless Module Kit (OTS) "Laird CL4790" on the AA128
Touch and the AA128 Auxiliary Modules network. Each
AA128 Wireless Module arrives pre-paired from the
factory with a group of two wireless modules. They are
identified by the same serial number. If the wireless
modules do not use the same serial number, the
wireless network will not work because they are not
paired. A pair of AA128 Wireless Modules replaces one
specific physical cabled link.
The radio module distance is 2Km (1 mile).

4 - NOTICES
• Only properly trained service personnel may
perform installation and service procedures.
(In other words: electricians, service personnel
employed by or active in an organization, business,
or service).
• All power sources must be disconnected prior to
wiring and installing.
• Electrostatic discharge (ESD) can damage
equipment and impair electrical circuitry. ESD
damage occurs when electronic components are
improperly handled and can result in complete or
intermittent failures.
• Warranty is void if the AA128 is used in a manner not
specified by the manufacturer.
5 - SYMBOLS
WARNING: Read the following text
carefully; it contains important information
which, if ignored, may cause the controller
to operate improperly.
High Voltage. Hazard of electrical shock.
Functional Ground Terminal. Primarily
used for functional earth terminals which
are generally associated with test and
measurement circuits. These terminals
are not for safety earthing purposes but
provide an earth reference point.
Protective Earth Ground Terminal.
Primarily used for protective earth
terminals. These terminals connect to
conductive parts of a device for the
purpose of safety and is intended to
be connected to an external system for
protective grounding.

7 - HARDWARE INSTALLATION
Things to know before starting the installation
Operating Environment
• Install inside building except for antennas
according to the needs.
• Avoid exposing the system to harmful gases or
excessive humidity, install the system modules
in a corridor or a room dedicated to electronic
controllers.
• The ideal ambient temperature is between 20 °C
and 25 °C (68 °F - 77 °F). The temperature should
not go lower than 0 °C (32 °F) and should not
exceed 40 °C (104 °F).
• Make sure there is sufficient ventilation around
the AA128 Wireless Modules.
• Install the modules far from sources of vibrations
and where it will not get bumped.
NOTICE: Install the AA128 Wireless Modules as close
as possible to the controllers. Use 4 wood screws to
secure them on the wall. The AA128 Wireless Modules
must have a power outlet located within 1.8 meter
(3 ft) around them to connect the wall mount power
supplies provided with them.
NOTE: The instructions for fastening the antenna
is given in the antenna quick guide located in the
cardboard box.
NOTICE: Make sure firmware on the AA128 Module
Auxiliary is up to date before switching physical
network to wireless network.
NOTICE: Use the End of Line resistor in the AA128
Wireless Module when the distance is higher than
15 m (50 ft), refer to the End of Line wiring diagram
on page 3 for more information.
