1.
GENERAL
1.01
This
section covers connection information
for the
1563i-IB
telephone
set. Modifica-
tions to provide optional service features
are
also
cov.ered.
1.02
This section is 1·eissued to include infor-
mation on current production sets using
25-W3 TOUCH-TONE®
dials.
Since this reissue
covers a general revision, arrows ordinarily used
to
indicate changes have been
omitted.
1.03
The 1563HB telephone set is factory-wired
for 1A1 and
1A2
key
telephone
system
line circuits. Set can be used
with
1A KTS pro-
vided wiring modifications are made (see Table
A).
1.04
Line exclusion can be provided by the in-
stallation of a D-179935 Kit of Parts
(ordered
separately).
See Part 2 and Section
502-525-112 for installation procedures.
1.05
Due
to set design the optional general use
kits of parts for polarity guard and sta-
tion busy lamp features can not be used with
present production

telephone
sets.
Sta-
tion busy indication, showing that the
handset
is off-hook or that the headset jack is occupied
(but does not indicate that a
line
button is de-
pressed), can be arranged by installation ·of a
KS-15724, List

MODIFICATION
LINE EXCLUSION

Install D-179935 Kit of
Parts
as follows
:
(1) Remove faceplate and
housing
(see Sec-
.
tion
502-525-112 for procedure).
(2)
Insert tangs of long brac:[<et into the two
T -slots precut
in
the
line··
switch
bracket.
Insert the screw into the
tapped
hole in
the
bracket
and
tighten screw
to
secure bracket.
(3)
.
Place switch
assembly
on bracket with
spring contacts oriented
to
left side of set.
Secure by hooking wire spring over T on
rear
of bracket and
projections
on either side of
bracket
(see Section 502-525-112
for deta.ils).
( 4)
Make
connections as shown in Table B.
(5)
Remove hand hold cover (in
housing)
and
replace left side plunger
with
plunger
from
kit.
Replace cover.
(6) Install housing· and faceplate.

BUZZER
2.02
Install
KS-8109, List
2
buzzer (ordered
separately)
as
follows:
(1)
Remove faceplate and
housing
(see Sec-
tion 502-525-112).
(2) Mount buzzer to
two
taped holes
located
above
headset
jacks and secure using two
screws and
insulating
washers.
Note:
Metal case of buzzer must be insu-
lated
from set baseplate.
(3) Make
connections for type
of buzzer op-
eration
required
as
follows:
Note:
For common
line
buzzer, (BK) ringer
lead and (S) strap lead must be discon-
nected at RR and RT terminal of key termi-
nal
strip.
These leads can
be
transferred to
R
and
T
of any line to provide line ringer
with common buzzer or insulated and stored
if ringer is not used.
(a) For AC operation use
M1W
cords or
strap wire
to
connect terminal A of buz-
zer
to
RT of key terminal strip and termi-
nal C of buzzer to RR of key terminal strip .
(b) For DC operation use Ml W cords or
strap wire
to connect
frame of
buzz~r
