- Page 2 1.0 Introduction With your purchase of a NOVEX RZ-range zoom stereo microscope you have chosen for a quality product. The NOVEX RZ-range microscopes are developed for use at universities, laboratories and industry. The stereo microscope consists of two separate microscope tubes which are combined as a unit, in order to focus them simultaneously on the object.

- Page 4 3.1 Stands The NOVEX RZ range kan be equipped with one of four different stands: the PL stand without illumination, the SF stand with incident and transmitted illumination, the LV universal stand with heavy base and the LT universal stand with table clamp. 4.0 Functions of the zoom stereo microscope The stereo microscope consists of a stand (L) with holder/focusing system, in which the stereo head is placed and locked with set screw (Q).
- Page 5 4.5 Focusing With the focusing knobs (F) the object can be sharply focussed. 4.6 Magnification adjustment The zoom stereo microscopes of the Z-range are equipped with 2 achromatic zoom objectives. By using the zoom knobs (R) the magnification can be adjusted in a smooth, stepless way. 4.7 Illumination SF stand This stand has an adjustable incident haloogen illuminatiomn 6 Volt 10 Watt with cold-light-mirror with daylight filter and a non-adjustable transmitted fluorescent illumination 5 Watt.
- Page 6 The SF stand with transmitted illumination is supplied with an extra black/white stage plate. This plate can easyly be exchanged with the glass one by means of loosening the set screw (M) at the front of the base. The black side of the stage plate can be used when a specimen is better observed against a dark back ground.
- Page 7 Caution • Cleaning cloths containing plastic fibres can damage the coating of the lenses! 7.2 Maintenance of the stand Dust can be removed with a brush.
