5.4 Ex protection The digital end position sensor REP01-15 is a "simple apparatus" that is suitable for use in areas with an ATEX Zone 1 and ATEX Zone 2 explosive atmosphere. The REP01-15 also has the following characteristics: With the ambient temperature range of -20...+50 °C the product is classified in temperature class T4.
Page 12
The connecting cable must be firmly installed and adequately protected against mechanical impact. The REP01-15 must be mounted in such a way that the housing is protected from mechanical impact/damage. When used in hazardous areas, EN60079-11 and EN 60079-14 must be observed.

An RMA number is mandatory for any returns and can be obtained from the Support & Service Centre (see "Contact information" on page 43). The return shipment of the REP01-15 must occur in the original packaging and with freight and insurance paid to Microtronics Engineering GmbH (see "Contact information"...
Page 23
When mounting and aligning the REP01-15 , the following conditions must be observed: The magnet and the REP01-15 must be on the same axis. The distance between the magnet and REP01-15 must be less than 11 mm when the object to be monitored is in the end position.

Page 25
2 Mounting bracket (not included in the scope of supply) 3. Check the distance between the magnet and REP01-15 when the object to be monitored is in the end position. To ensure that the reed contact triggers reliably, this distance must not be greater than 11 mm .
Page 26
2 Cable connector of the REP01-15 1. Ensure that the data logger you would like to connect to the REP01-15 is ready for operation. You can find instructions on how to do this in the "Commissioning the system" chapter of the manual for the respective data logger.
Page 27
The following step is not mandatory. 7. Check whether the reed contact of the REP01-15 triggers correctly when the object to be monitored is in the defined end position. To do so, evaluate the data transmitted from the data logger to the myDatanet server.
Page 28
8.3.2 Technical details about the output signal The REP01-15 is a "Simple apparatus". It therefore contains no active components but only a passive resistor network to convert the digital signal of the reed contact into a mA signal. The output signal is therefore dependent on the selected sensor supply voltage and the internal resistors of the data logger.

Study the manual thoroughly before placing into operation to prevent faulty or incorrect configuration. Utilise the manual to familiarise yourself with the operation of the REP01-15 and the input screens of the myDatanet server before you begin with the configuration.
Page 31
This includes the selection of the sensor supply voltage (15 V , 22 V or 24 V ) and of the correct mode (0...20 mA or 4...20 mA) for the input the REP01-15 should be connected to. If an alarm is also to be triggered when the contact closes or opens, the appropriate alarm threshold must also be set depending on the sensor supply voltage ( 7 mA at 15 V supply and 10 mA at 22 V or 24 V supply).
Page 33
Check all of the cables for mechanical damage at regular intervals. Clean the REP01-15 with a soft, moist cloth. Use a mild cleaning agent, if necessary. Important note: Due to the electrostatic effects, the REP01-15 must not be rubbed with cloths in the Ex zone.

Logo of the EU WEEE Directive This symbol indicates that the requirements of Directive 2012/19/EU regarding the scrap disposal of waste from electric and electronic equipment must be observed. Microtronics Engineering GmbH supports and promotes recycling and environmentally friendly, separate collection/disposal of waste from electric and electronic equipment in order to protect the environment and human health.
Page 37
Check whether the sensing distance is maintained (see (no recognisable switch between "Specifications" on page 9). Check the alignment of the REP01-15 (see "Aligning the REP01- closed and open) 15 " on page 23). There is another magnetic field in the immediate vicinity, which overrides the magnetic field of the magnet attached to the object to be monitored.
Page 39
Important note: Always check the specifications detailed in the manual for the relevant data logger, whether the device you have selected is approved for use in the intended environment (Ex zone). Note: A corresponding IoT app is required to use the REP01-15 in conjunction with the data loggers listed in the following table.
