As a theft deterrent a Kensington style cable lock may be used to secure the Sentinel (Ethernet Switch only) Mini to a table or surface. A small key lock can also be used to lock the case. Plug in the supplied USB/Ethernet Adapter and Keyboard to USB jacks on the Side Panel as shown in the diagram above.

Note: If the following image and error message appears and you are using a WIFI Extender provided by Sentinel Gaming Systems, you will need to set it up. You may press “w” and a WIFI Setup Login Screen will be displayed. Follow the instructions in the WIFI Extender Setup Guide provided with the WIFI Extender to setup and pair the WIFI Extender to your WIFI router.

60 seconds, unplug the computer from AC power, wait 30 seconds and plug back in. Wait until the computer displays the Sentinel Login Screen. Repeat from Step 1. If it continues to fail, refer to the Owners Guide or contact Sentinel Gaming Systems technical support.

Use the ID and password provided to you or set by you during initial product registration. In order to power and use the Windows® computer a user must “Log in” to the Sentinel using the Sentinel Login Screen. There are three operating modes for general use – Gaming, Study and No-Video Mode.

User 8 is a special user and is required to make important configuration settings and clear alerts on the Sentinel System . Do not attempt to change its name, number or assign it to one of the general users of the computer. Do not give this password to users of the system. In addition to Gaming Mode, Study Mode and No Video Mode there are other modes of login which perform configuration setting changes within the system.

Study Mode From the Sentinel Login Screen, press “s” on the keyboard and the border around the screen will change to red and the title will indicate Study Mode Login. Now select a user and password (or press the Power Switch for User 1).

A “Log off” or “Restart” from Windows® does not shut down or log off the currently logged in Sentinel user. To put the system to “Sleep” from No Video Mode, press the Power button on the front panel.

Continuous Operation (>24 hours and past 2:59AM) The Sentinel is designed to operate within set daily limits. By default, 3:00 AM is defined as the start of the day rather than midnight. Users might want to use the computer past midnight and the amount of time used past midnight, but before 3:00 AM would be associated with the prior calendar day rather than the new calendar day.

Web Configuration Portal, requiring access via an assigned ID and password. An Internet connection to the Sentinel is required at all times the system is to be used. NEVER unplug the Sentinel while Windows or the internal fans are operating. Be patient while the system waits for Windows to shut down.
