Introduction to NAP-8200E The NAPCO NAP-8200E is Highly Accurate and fast Testing Instrument designed for Jewelers, Pawnshops Banks etc. System uses with XRF (X-ray fluorescence) testing system with a proportional counter. Principle of Operation: XRF testing machines work based on the principle of X-ray fluorescence. When a material is irradiated with high-energy X-rays, the atoms within the material are excited, causing them to emit characteristic X-rays.

Unboxing your NAP-8200E You will receive your system in an enclosed carton with plywood panels and latch type locks. The top cover can be removed by unlocking the 4 latches. Take out the top panel and the form cutout protection If you have man power and lifting braces you can now lift the system out.

Connecting your instrument. Use the power cord provided to connect the instrument to AC power outlet. It's highly recommended to use a UPS with at least 1KVA Capacity to power the instrument. Connect the WiFi dongle in to one of the USB Ports. Power up Procedure Put the Main power switch in the back to supply power to the system.

Operation of the Instrument Run the XRF Software using the icon on the desktop. NAPCO XRF Software will now run and proceed with the 10 minutes preheat process. Let is complete the process when you run the software for the very first time.

Also, during regular operations If you are starting the system after a lapse of over an hour let the preheat process to complete. If you are starting it after a short period, you can press escape key on the external keyboard if you have one connected to terminate the process.

Functionality of the Software 1 Camera Viewport. Used to algin the sample on the sample Table for testing. By single clicking with mouse if connected or Tapping on the image on the touchscreen will expand the Camera viewport to full for better sample alignment and Placement 2.

NAPCO XRF Software Operations The XRF Software is used to perform all the XRF functions including tests, Automatic and manual Report Generation system calibration and alignment procedures.

Peak Adjustment Procedure Performing Peak adjustment procedure will keep the instrument accurate at all times. Place the Silver Disk on the sample table and align it to be on the Centre of Cross hairs of the Camera image. Select Peak Adjust from the menu Following Massage will appear on Screen and Press OK to start the procedure System may run Several Cycles of testing to achieve a peak value of 1111 for Pure Silver.

On some occasions especially where the system is in operative for long periods of time the calibration may not be successful on the first try and a massage similar to the below image will be displayed. In this case Press no and run the peak adjust procedure again. System will achieve correct peak.

Testing procedures Your system offers several different testing procedures. They can be used as per your requirements. Place the sample to be tested on the sample table and align it to be on the Centre of Cross hairs of the Camera image. If required use the support provided to hold the sample so a good surface area is facing the Centre of the cross hairs.

Selection of the Curve Based on the primary element of your article you must select the test curve. There are two places where you can do this. Press Curve selector button and select appropriate curve currently selected curve is shown with a tick mark Press Test button to go to set menu and select the appropriate curve from Curve Sub Menu.

On the test menu select Sample ID and enter the name of the sample. You cannot enter standard sample names (S_xxx) or Pure element names (Pure_Ag) etc. If you do not enter a name system will assign a name the test based on the following format: TempSample(x) where x is the current available numeral based on ascending order.

2.Multi Point Test This test is used to determine the average composition as well as the consistency over different areas of a large item such as large necklace or a bangle. To perform the test, 1. Place item with first point to check centre on cross hairs 2.

3.Repeat Test This test is used to determine the composition of item on the selected point with very high accuracy. To perform the test, Place item with point to check centre on cross hairs select correct curve Select Repeat Test as type of test Enter number times to test ( 3 is the minimum Recommended) Enter your Sample Name Press ok.

System will continue until number cycles are completed. Once completed system will display the full results. Test records and related Functions Test history is saved to 3 different files for your convenience automatically. They are saved to a sub folder based on type of curve used inside the “sampleSpecData” Folder in side the software folder.
