Introduction General The scanner scans originals of the following types (preferably of a rectangular shape): Reflective originals with the total size of the A3 Format (normal originals: maximum scanning area: 305 mm x 432 mm) Transparent originals in A3 format (film, etc.: maximum scanning area: 305 mm x 400 mm). -

Start-up Transport Safeguards Unlocking the Transport Safeguards The light transmission unit of the scanner is held by clamps. These protect the scanner against damages during transport. Before you start oper- ation of the scanner, the transport safeguards have to be unlocked. Start-up Locking the Transport Safeguards The scanner must not be transported without pre- vious locking of the transport safeguards. 1. Switch the scanner off and back on again. After initialization, the scanner unit will automat- ically move into the correct position to fasten the transport safeguards. -

Power Cable Connection Observe the following instructions before you con- nect the power cable. The scanner can only be de-energized by the on/ off switch. Power cables used in the USA and Canada must at least be of type SJT.
