- Page 3 Filling Water 1. Wash your hands thoroughly with soap before opening the filter package provided. Remove the unused Filter Cartridge (PowerPac PP1588) and soak the Filter Cartridge upright in a clean bowl containing clean, room-temperature water for 10 minutes. Discard the water. Rinse the Filter Cartridge under running water for 10 seconds.
