DESCRIPTION
The Firechief Home Wireless Alarm Locate Remote Control is a device that
wirelessly interlinks with the wireless alarms in the Firechief Home alarm
range (FSB10W, FHB10W, FSM10W, FCB10W). It can be used to locate,
silence and test all Firechief Home wireless alarms remotely. This provides a
very convenient and safe method to test and operate your Firechief Home
wireless alarm system.
INSTALLATION
The Locate Remote is supplied with a wall bracket and should be wall
mounted at 1.4m above floor level. This will provide the best wireless
transmission path for interlinking with all alarms in the system. The Locate
Remote should be mounted in a central location making it easy to see and to
use for its intended purpose.
LOCATE REMOTE FUNCTIONALITY
The wireless remote control has three main functions:
LOCATE
This function is used to locate which alarm within the system has gone into
'alarm' condition, in the event that all of the interlinked alarms start to sound.
SILENCE
This function is used to HUSH/SILENCE all alarms in the event that the
alarms are activated.
WARNING: Before using the alarm HUSH/SILENCE feature, fully
identify the source of the emergency situation and make sure
that the area is safe.
TEST
This function is used to carry out the regular weekly tests that are required
for all alarms. It means that there is no requirement to access each alarm
directly, which provides an easier, quicker and safer way to test your alarms.
In addition to these functions, the Locate Remote also has two warning
features:
ALARM INDICATOR
When an interlinked alarm in the system is activated by an emergency
situation and has gone into alarm mode, the ALARM INDICATOR red LED
will flash on the Locate Remote.
LOW BATTERY INDICATOR
When the Locate Remote is in low battery mode, the LOW BATTERY
INDICATOR yellow LED will flash.
ACTIVATION
To activate the Locate Remote Control
1. Before using the Locate Remote, it needs to be activated. To do this, press
the SILENCE button and hold down for 5 seconds until the red and yellow
LED indicators show at the same time.
2. Once this has been seen, release the button.
CAUTION: The Locate Remote only needs to be activated before the initial
time it is set up and used.
Wireless Interlink Set Up
To operate correctly, the Locate Remote needs to be interlinked to all alarms
in the system. Ideally this should be done when installing the alarms, but the
Locate Remote can be added later if required.
There are two methods to interlink the Locate Remote control:
Method A – where a MASTER alarm is already set up (preferred
method):
1. Press the TEST/HUSH button on the MASTER alarm 3 times within 2
seconds and the red LED will start to flash quickly. The alarm is now in
pairing mode and ready to be paired to the Locate Remote. The MASTER
alarm will remain in this mode for 30 seconds.
2. Now press the SILENCE button on the Locate Remote Control 3 times
within 2 seconds. The Locate Remote will enter into learning mode
with red LED flashing once every second. After learning the signal and
completing the interlink process from MASTER unit successfully, the red
LED will stop flashing.
