  • Page 4 SRC-16 + G2 Installation and Operation Manual Product Overview The Broadcast Tools® SRC-16 + G2 is a computer GPIO interface to the real world. Connected through an RS-232 serial or Ethernet port the SRC-16 + G2 can notify your PC software program that any of 16 optically isolated inputs have been opened or closed and allow your software to control any of the 16 SPST, 1-amp (form A) relays.

If any damage is present, please notify the shipper immedi- ately and retain the packaging for inspection by the shipper. The package should con- tain the SRC-16 + G2, a one-foot RED straight-through CAT 5 (daisy-chain) cable, a modular cable with 9-pin “S9”...

Chassis Ground (Chs Gnd) Station ground and cable drain wires should be tied to this chassis ground point. Relay Outputs: Each of the sixteen relay outputs is supplied with SPST (form A) dry contacts that are jumper selectable for either normally open (N.O) or normally closed (N.C) operation.
  • Page 7 SRC-16 + G2 Installation and Operation Manual For example: To connect a 48 VDC signal voltage to an input on the SRC-16 + G2 in “wet” con- figuration the completed equation for the external resistor value would be: R = ((48-1.2)/0.009)-2200 = 3000 ohms To calculate the power dissipated by the external resistor, the equation would be: P = I x I x R, so the resistor must be at least .009 x .009 x 2200 = 0.243 Watts, use a 1/2 Watt rated resistor.
