Introduction About this document This user manual describes how to set up and use GEWA Connect. The user manual is intended for technicians and support persons who are responsible for configuring GEWA Connect and educating users in the use of the product.

Customise GEWA Connect Add a communication button Add a phone, messages, or numpad button Phone, messages, and numpad buttons must be added to make phone calls and send text messages. Notifications about missed phone calls and new text messages show on the buttons.

Add a shortcut Shortcuts to frequently used items can be added to always show them at the bottom of the screen in GEWA Connect. Up to four shortcuts can show at the same time. 1. In Edit mode, select on an item and "Set as shortcut".

Customise GEWA Connect Record a scanning sound As an alternative to the standard scanning sound, you can record scanning sounds for individual pages and buttons. Scanning sounds are played during row and linear scanning. You can also set a scanning sound to play when a page or button is selected.

Use GEWA Connect Open the "Click menu" NOTE: The "Click menu" only shows if the current application supports the functions scroll, zoom and longpress. For example, the "Click menu" shows in a web browser, but not in the GEWA applications.

Use GEWA Connect Use the "Longpress menu" The “Longpress menu” contains options for scanning and navigation. To open the “Longpress menu”, push and hold the external switch for 2.5 seconds. To change the delay time for opening the "Longpress menu" or for disabling the “Longpress menu", see Scanning settings on page 14.

Maintenance Update the GEWA Connect application Regularly do a check in Google Play Store that the latest version of the GEWA Connect application is installed. If there is a new version, download and install it. Make a backup NOTE: Make sure that there is always a backup of the system configurations that can be used if GEWA Connect does not operate correctly.

Storage and disposal Update the Multibox When a new update is available, the button "Update Multibox" is enabled in the "Multibox" menu in GEWA Settings and the text "Update available" is shown. 1.
