• NEVER look directly into the laser beam.

Introduction
The unit uses electronic signals to locate the position of
wooden beams, connections or live AC wires under
plasterwork and
other common wall materials. When the edge of the
beam/plank is detected the unit's LCD display gives a
visual and acoustic signal to enable you to
exactly determine the edge of the beam. You can mark
the place of the beam edges with a pencil line. The unit
generates a vertical laser plane and turns 45 or 90
degrees to the right or to the left to generate a straight
laser line.
Operating instructions
Detection mode is selected with the function keys - metal
or wood.
The standard mode is the detection of wooden beams.
The preferred mode must be selected before "on" is
pressed.
Calibration
Calibrate the unit on a wall before you scan for wooden
or metal elements or power lines.
Please note! The calibration of the unit must take place
on a wall in which you know there are no wooden/metal
or electrical parts. Still wet or just painted surfaces can
also affect the good calibration of the unit. If you
do not adhere to the points mentioned above, the unit
will not give the correct location of concealed objects in
walls and ceilings.
Different surfaces
Wallpaper: there is no difference in the operation of the
sensor with surfaces hung with wallpaper or textiles
unless this wallpaper contains metallic foil or fibres.
Plasterwork or lath walls: the unit will function
correctly unless the plasterwork or laths are
exceptionally thick or contain metal meshing.
Ceilings or surfaces with a textured finish: when a
rough surface has to be scanned, such as a sprayed
textured ceiling, you can use a piece of cardboard to
scan the surface. Carry out the abovementioned
calibration WITH the piece of cardboard between the
sensor and the surface.
Detection of wooden beams
When the unit is switched on, as default it is in the
detection mode for wooden beams.
1.
Slide the unit in a straight line over the surface. As
the unit comes closer to the beam, more lines will
be seen as shown in picture 2. When the edge of
the beam is detected, the wood indication and the
edge line will be seen as in figure 3. The unit
sounds a repeated beeping.
2.
Use the indication line to mark the edge of the
beam.
3.
Slide further over the beam. When the indication
goes out and the unit stops beeping the other edge
has been detected.
4.
Carry out an extra check of the location of the beam
by approaching it from the other side.
5.
The middle point between the markings indicates
the middle of the beam.
