NTRODUCTION The PSU-BOB i4 is an optional accessory for the Proton Products SL / SLR (mini) i4 speed and length gauge. It provides the following functions: • Connects to a SL / SLR (mini) i4 gauge via the DB44 “INTERFACE” connector.

Ensure that all cable screens are correctly clamped and connected to their connectors and metal connector shells at any end-user equipment. • The PSU-BOB cable glands are fitted with metal fingers which must contact the cable screens for correct EMC protection. If the shutter needs to be controlled from a remote location (such as to block laser emission when a safety guard is opened), then the “SHUT /EN”-to-“DGND” shorting link may be disconnected from the screw terminals and substituted with a remotely-mounted switch. PROFI A Shield Note: the I-BUS port on the PSU-BOB i4 is only for PROFIBUS communication. RJ45 port (10/100BASE-T) is used for Modbus TCP/IP, together with Profinet or Ethernet/IP when enabled. Both protocols will be available on the same RJ45. If 2 separate Ethernet connections are needed, a managed switch is necessary.
