Introduction The Renogy Solar Double Cable Entry Gland Box is a UV-resistant, waterproof, and ABS plastic membrane designed to provide the solution for cable entry through roofs. With its dual cable entry, the entry gland box easily passes solar cables and can be conveniently mounted on virtually any roofsurface.

Renogy Solar Double Cable Entry Box × 1 Cable Gland × 2 ST5.5*38 mm MC-4 Waterproof Head × 2 Self-tapping Screw (with O-Ring Seal) × 4 Make sure that all accessories are complete and free of any signs of damage.
  • Page 6 Cleaning Rag Prior to installing the entry gland box, prepare the recommended tools. 3.2. Check the Renogy Solar Double Cable Entry Gland Box Inspect the entry gland box and all included accessories for any visible damage including cracks, dents, deformation, and other visible abnormalities, do not use the entry gland box if there is any visible damage.
  • Page 7 4. Installation To ensure proper sealing and waterproof performance, always follow the installation instructions in the sequence described in this manual. 4.1. Install Cable Glands Install the included cable glands in a sequence as listed in the left illustration. A cable gland comprises a nut base, a gasket, a cable holder, and a gland cap.
  • Page 8 Repeat Steps 2 to 3 on the other gland, and ensure both glands are firmly secured. 4.2. Drill a Cable Grommet In this manual, we drill one grommet for both cables using an impact driver with a 31/32 in Masonry drill bit. You can drill two grommets in accordance with the specific cable size in actual applications.
  • Page 9 Run the bare ends of MC-4 adapter cables through the front grommets and cable glands. Rotate the gland caps clockwise to secure the MC-4 adapter cables. Ensure both MC-4 adapter cables are firmly secured. Run bare ends of both MC-4 adapter cables through the cable grommet on your installation site.

Clean the Installation Site and Entry Gland Box Wipe the bottom of the entry gland box and the surface of the installation site with a cleaning rag to ensure they are clean and dry; otherwise, it will affect the sealing performance. If necessary, roughen the surface of the installation site for better sealing.

Secure the gland box by driving the four included self-tapping screws through the mounting holes by using an impact driver and a 19/64 in. socket.   • Page 12 5. How to Install the MC-4 Waterproof Heads? For solar panels that will not be used for a period of time, we recommend that you should install the included waterproof heads on the MC-4 connectors to prevent them against rain or oxidization.
