Blu-ray 3D
In combination with AQUOS Quattron 3D, AQUOS Blu-ray 3D provides stereophonic
dynamism with the superb brightness and high-quality picture.
Blu-ray Disc
Blu-ray Disc is a new-generation optical disc storage media format. While it has the same
12-cm diameter as a CD or DVD, a Blu-ray Disc has up to five times the information
capacity of a DVD, with approx. 25 GB on a single-layer disc and 50 GB on a dual-layer
disc.
BD-LIVE
A variety of content, such as movie trailers with interactive functions, are available using
this format by connecting to the internet.
BONUSVIEW
Optional features can be accessed by playing a Blu-ray Disc that is compatible with
BONUSVIEW (a.k.a. Profile 1.1). For example, on a sub-screen you can see an outline of
the film scene you are viewing or watch video on the making of that scene while the film is
playing on the main screen.

DivX HD
Codec for playback from USB memory of DivX HD video on devices certified for DivX HD to
deliver high-quality content on a large TV screen. (e.g.: .mkv file format)
DVD-Video
DVD-Video is a technical specification stipulated by the DVD Forum for storing video
content on DVD media. The specification uses MPEG-2 for compressing video and can be
used to store more than two hours of video in picture quality that surpasses laser disc.
Compact Disc Digital Audio (CDDA)
The Compact Disc Digital Audio system, or CDDA, is the standard for audio CDs. It specifies
the digital audio encoding as two channels of PCM audio, each signed 16-bit values
sampled at 44,100 Hz. The maximum recording time is approximately 80 minutes on a
12-cm CD. Unlike analog records, the sound quality does not deteriorate even if the CD is
played many times.

Dolby Digital Plus
Dolby Digital Plus was developed from the earlier Dolby Digital to enhance quality of sound
and functionality. It can support increased bitrates at high quality with more audio channels
to provide superior surround sound entertainment for digital high-definition TV broadcasts,
optical disc media and online content.
Dolby True HD
Dolby True HD is an advanced lossless multi-channel audio codec intended primarily for
high-definition home-entertainment equipment, such as Blu-ray Disc.
dts (digital theater system)-HD Master Audio Essential™
DTS-HD Master Audio Essential provides the same playback quality as DTS-HD Master
Audio stored on a Blu-ray Disc, but for standard DVD discs it does not support DTS 96/24,
DTS ES, ES Matrix, or DTS NEO 6. However, it is possible to decode the DTS 96/24, DTS
ES, ES Matrix, or DTS NEO 6 streams from HDMI if the AV receiver supports these codecs.
AQUOS LINK
By connecting an AQUOS unit and a Sharp Blu-ray Disc player using an HDMI cable, the
player can be easily operated using the AQUOS remote control.

home entertainment audio devices can simplify sharing computer music files between
connected home computers and audio systems.
