SAFETY ADVICE
LIVE PARTS
In electric motors there are live parts
Dismantling of guards, misuse or inadequate maintenance may
result in death, serious bodily injury or property damage.
Use the motors properly and periodically perform maintenance
operations
ROTATING PARTS
In electric motors there are dangerous rotating parts. Dismantling of guards,
misuse, or insufficient maintenance can result in death, serious bodily injury,
or property damage.
Use the motors properly and periodically perform maintenance
Protect the ends of the veins
HOT SURFACES
In electric motors there are hot surfaces.
Dismantling of guards, misuse, or insufficient maintenance can result in
death, serious bodily injury, or property damage.
Use the motors properly
Wait for the engine to cool down before working on it.
All work carried out on these engines must be carried out by qualified
personnel.
All safety rules must be observed and the appropriate protective equipment
must be used.
The motors are intended for use in industrial facilities and comply with
IEC/EN 60034 standards. Its use in potentially explosive atmospheres is
prohibited.
Electric motors must not be put into service until the machinery in which they
are incorporated has been declared to comply with the LVD Machine
Directive 2006/4295/EC
Reception Inspection
Unpack the motor and check that it has not been damaged during transport.
Also check that the engine characteristics indicated on the rating plate comply with
those requested in the order.
Contact our sales services in the event of non-conformity.
Transportation and Storage
Engines must not be subjected to harmful action during transport and storage.
Storage should be done in a clean, dry and vibration-free place.
Mounting
The installation must be carried out by qualified technicians and in accordance with
the legislation in force.
The rotors of the motors are dynamically balanced with half a keyway. For this
reason, the coupling to be mounted on the spindle end must also be balanced with a
half keyway.
To mount the coupling on the spindle tip, heat it to approximately 80°C. If
necessary, insertion can be aided by using a screw mounted in the threaded hole of
the spindle tip.
NOTE: The coupling should never be mounted with the aid of knocks as this will
ruin the bearings.
In the case of direct coupling, the motor and the dragged machine must be aligned
respecting the parallel and angular misalignment errors recommended by the
manufacturer of the coupling used, without forgetting that the more precise the
alignment, the greater the life of the bearings.
In the case of belt drives, do not use pulleys of a very small diameter or pulleys
wider than the length of the spindle tip.
Pay attention to the tension of the belts, which should not exceed the values of the
recommended radial loads for the bearings. If these recommendations are not
followed, there is a risk of ruining the bearings or even fracturing the shaft.
Assemble the engine in such a way that the free circulation of fresh cooling air is
guaranteed.
Commissioning
If the engine has been out of service for a long time or if it has been out of service
for a long time, it is advisable to measure the insulation resistance before starting.
Use an apparatus that provides a voltage of 500VDC to measure the insulation
resistance of motors with a nominal voltage up to 1000V.
Measurements should be made before connecting the power cords. The
measured values must be lower than those indicated below

40ºC
If the values are lower than those indicated, check whether the insulation
of the motor terminals is affected by moisture or dust. Clean them if
necessary.
Otherwise, it is necessary to dry the engine at a temperature below
100ºC
