small parts safely. Attention: Risk of injury from resilient components! Note: Do not apply excessive pressure to components and assemble them carefully. The kit works with electrical voltages and currents that, if used improperly, can lead to electric shocks, short circuits or fires. Please note the following safety instructions: Attention: Electrical voltage can be dangerous! Note: Never work on live parts and check whether the device is disconnected from the mains.

LED Cube 8x8x8 Introduction Thank you for choosing our AZ-Delivery LED Cube with blue LEDs. On the following pages we will show you how to assemble this kit and use the cube. When assembling the cube, you should work as accurately as possible, as minor errors often affect the desired appearance of the final product.
LED Cube 8x8x8 Preliminary work In the first step, the circuit board is soldered as the basis for the kit. The two enclosed baseboards are separated into individual parts for this purpose and the plastic sheathing is removed:...
LED Cube 8x8x8 The board In the first step solder the prepared sockets for the LEDs and the two 4.7k resistors as shown in the figure:...
Page 9
LED Cube 8x8x8 In the next step solder the 8 resistors on the backside of the board as well as the enclosed sockets, the figure below shows the already assembled board: When soldering the sockets, pay attention to the auxiliary markings for orientation on the board (notch).
Page 10
LED Cube 8x8x8 The next step is to solder the resistor network, the crystal and the two ceramic capacitors. Pay attention to the correct orientation of the component in the resistor network: In the last step, solder the missing components to the top side of the board.
Page 11
LED Cube 8x8x8 This completes the soldering of the circuit board. In the next steps, the drilling template must be made. To do this, print out the "Drilling template" file and stick it onto a suitable support such as a piece of chipboard, a wooden board or, if necessary, onto a piece of thick cardboard.
LED Cube 8x8x8 LEDs bending Tip: A small pair of electronic needle-nose pliers is ideal for bending the LEDs as evenly and precisely as possible. To clarify the bending scheme, the individual steps for bending an LED are described: 1. Place the LED in front of you on a suitable surface, the diode with the "head"...
LED Cube 8x8x8 LEDs soldering Place the curved LEDs in the drilling template as shown in the following figures and solder the LEDs horizontally first: If the first row is soldered cleanly, the other diodes can be soldered in the...
Page 14
LED Cube 8x8x8 The anodes and cathodes of the LEDs must not touch each other when crossing, otherwise a short circuit will occur and the LED Cube will not work. A finished layer should look like in the picture: After soldering a layer, a function test of the LEDs is recommended, since these can be replaced later only with great difficulty.
LED Cube 8x8x8 Inserting the panels into the sockets Insert the finished layer with the 8 x 8 soldered LEDs with the positive pin (anode) into the sockets on the board. Leave the first row of sockets (marked C1 - C8) free.
LED Cube 8x8x8 The last solder connections In the last step, the horizontal planes still have to be connected to the free sockets in the connection area of the board (riser). You can use the enclosed red cable for this or use your own wires for aesthetic reasons.
LED Cube 8x8x8 Software For programming you need a USB-Serial adapter, such you can also purchase in our store. For example: https://www.az-delivery.de/products/usb-ttl-adapter-3-3v-oder- 5v-mit-ch340g-und-20cm-jumperkabel The connection is as follows:...

LED Cube 8x8x8 To program the LED Cube you need the "STC-ISP" program. First download and unzip the following Github directory: https://github.com/tomazas/ledcube8x8x8 In the "Tools" folder you will find “stc-isp-15xx-v6.85.zip” unpack them. Now you can download stc-isp-15xx-v6.85.exe starten. First search for STC12C5A60S2 at "MCU Type".
Page 19
LED Cube 8x8x8 Next, select the COM port to which the USB-Serial Adapter is connected.
