Note: Aspects of the da Vinci Firefly Imaging System not addressed in this document are the same as for the da Vinci Xi and the da Vinci X vision system. For details, refer to the applicable system user manual, including current addenda, if any.
The Firefly Imaging System consists of a near-infrared laser located in the Endoscope Controller and an endoscope (0° or 30°). All da Vinci Xi endoscopes and Endoscope Controllers are capable of visible light and Firefly imaging. The Firefly Imaging System uses near-infrared light in conjunction with an imaging agent to create fluorescent images of tissue.
The da Vinci Firefly Imaging System is a fully integrated part of the da Vinci Xi Surgical System and the da Vinci X Surgical System, and is for use only with these da Vinci systems. It is not intended for use with any other surgical imaging systems.
