How to update pre-installed apps

Although the G1 player turns off side-loading of apps, all pre-installed apps are included in the device's whitelist, so you can still install the latest APK file to update them. Please follow the steps below:

Download the app's APK file

There are 2 ways for you to easily get the APK file:
Method 1: Pickup APK file from Google play store using the download tool (take Spotify as an example):

1. Visit the Google play store -https://play.google.com/store/apps on your computer, search for the keyword "Spotify", and click the Spotify title in the search results.
   
2. Copy the URL in the address bar in the jump page.
   
3. Visit APK-Downloader - https://apk.support/apk-downloader, and paste the Google Play URL copied above into the box and click "Analyze" button.
   
4. APK-Downloader will automatically generate the APK download link, click it to download APK file.
   *Here you can view the version name, version code, update time, etc. of the application corresponding to the APK file.
   
   Tips: APK-downloader has Chrome extensions available to help you extract APK files more conveniently.
   
   Other similar download tools are:
   1. https://apkcombo.com/apk-downloader/ (with Chrome extension available)
   2. https://apps.evozi.com/apk-downloader/

Method 2: Download an APK from a third-party APK provider website (take Amazon Music as an example)

1. Visit the website of the third-party APK provider -https://apk.support/, and enter the application name "Amazon music" in the search box, click the search button, and then click the target application in the search result list, as shown below:
   
2. Click the button in the jump page to get the APK file.
   *Here you can view the version name, version code, update time, developer, etc. of the application corresponding to the APK file.
   
   Other similar third-party APK providers are:
   1. https://www.apkmirror.com/
   2. https://apkpure.com/
   3. https://apkcombo.com/

Install APK files to update apps

1. Save the APK file downloaded by the above method to G1 player, and then find it in "File Manager"of G1 player.
   
2. Click the APK file and follow the prompts to complete the installation and update
