Troubleshooting

No Video Output from HDMI 2 and HDMI 3 When Three Monitors Are Displayed Simultaneously

  • HDMI 1 is plug-and-play, while HDMI 2 & 3 rely on drivers. You need to download and install the DisplayLink driver to overcome the single-stream limit of M1/M2 MacBooks.
  • Ensure your computer system is Big Sur 11 or later.
  • Please make sure your laptop's USB C port supports video output and use standard cables (HDMI to HDMI/DP/VGA cables).
  • You can try the following steps: unplug all cables → restart your laptop → connect the USB-C cable to the dock and laptop → connect the power to the PD port → connect other devices to the dock, such as the monitor.

External Display Connected to USB-C Dock Flickers

  • Try using a shorter video cable, such as a 3-foot HDMI to HDMI cable.
    Try another monitor.
  • Update your operating system to the latest version.
  • Try resetting NVRAM. (Instructions on how to reset NVRAM can be found on the Apple website.)

No Video Output or Black Screen on External Monitor When Reconnecting Laptop and Dock

  • Confirm that the Dock is correctly connected to the laptop; try disconnecting and reconnecting the laptop and Dock.
  • Ensure the monitor is properly turned on; power cycle the monitor.
  • Restart the Dock, unplug and reinsert the Dock's power.

USB External Devices Plugged into the Dock Do Not Work

  • Ensure the Dock and laptop are correctly connected; try unplugging and reconnecting the laptop and Dock.
  • Check for damage to the USB port. Try plugging the USB device into another USB port.
  • If you are using a USB mobile hard drive or USB external optical drive, these devices have higher power requirements and are recommended to be connected to the USB-C port.
  • If you are using the Apple USB SuperDrive as a USB external optical drive, it cannot be used through the docking station and needs to be connected directly.

USB External Devices Plugged into the Dock Do Not Work

  • When connected to a USB port on the Dock, wireless keyboards and mice may lag, disconnect, or not work.
  • This may be due to radio frequency interference to wireless devices operating in the 2.4 GHz ISM band. To resolve this issue, you can use a USB extension cable to connect the receiver between the receiver and the Dock instead of plugging the USB wireless receiver directly into the Dock's USB port.
