DESCRIPTION
The RM83, Performance Monitor, is a test instrument used to align and adjust models 300B, 310B and
316 analog Outdoor Microwave Intrusion Links, models 380 and 385 analog Outdoor Microwave
Transceivers, models 334 and 336 Digital Outdoor Microwave Intrusion Links, models 390 and 395
Digital Outdoor Microwave Transceivers, and models 334-33468 and 336-33469 POE-S Outdoor
Microwave Intrusion Links. Intended to be used in conjunction with the technical manuals for each
model. Model RM83 can be used to check input voltage, indicate alignment or alarm threshold and may
be used as a monitor during intrusion testing.

  • Page 2 Models 300B, 310B and 316 require only Southwest Microwave model RM83 for on-site alignment. Models 334 and 336 should use the IST software or the RM83. Models 334-33468-POE-S and 336- 33469-POE-S should use the embedded browser software or the RM 83. (Refer to technical manual for each model).
  • Page 3 Walk slowly into the beam until an alarm indication is given. NOTE: links will alarm when deflection on meter is less than 2 or greater than 8.   • Page 4 RCO as necessary. ADDITIONAL FEATURE The RM83 is equipped with an external battery option on the side of the unit. Connecting a 12-volt DC battery to these terminals allows the model 300B, 310B or 316 receivers or the model 380 or 385 transceiver to be powered through the MS connector.
