Required Parts: Code Description Longitudinal Filter Support Lateral Filter Support Long Top Cross Member Tools Required 4 mm T-handle hex driver Assembly tool 3.4.2. - Page 9 LFE1220 Optical Table Enclosure Chapter 3: Installation The construction rails are assembled by sliding the head of low profile screws into the T-slots of the construction rail. To enable the assembly, the spacing between the end of the construction rail and the underside of the screw head must be set to a specific distance.

LFE1220 Optical Table Enclosure Chapter 3: Installation 3.4.3. Roof Frame Assembly Set the spacing of the low profile screws in both ends of each Lateral Filter Support (as per step 2). Figure 7 Roof Frame Assembly – Step 7 Set the spacing of the low profile screws in both ends of each Long Top Cross Member (C ). - Page 13 It is recommended that 2 people perform this step. Insert and slide the inner frame (from step 6) into the Long Top Cross Member (note that the inner frame fits to the face WITHOUT the Thorlabs name plate). Tighten the screws using the T-handle hex driver (as per step 5), ensuring the upper faces of the construction rails are flush.

Required Parts: Code Description Roof Panel - Inner Roof Panel - Outer Roof Panel - Blanking Barrel Plug Push Rivet 11. Peel back the protective plastic film from Roof Panels (H, I and J) just enough so that the fixing holes can be accessed. - Page 16 LFE1220 Optical Table Enclosure Chapter 3: Installation 12. Lay the Roof Panels (H, I and J) onto the roof frame (from step 0). Note that the panels have 1 glossy and 1 matte side. The panels can be assembled with either finish on the inside of the frame; orientate your parts according to the desired finish.
- Page 17 LFE1220 Optical Table Enclosure Chapter 3: Installation 13. Secure with qty 42 push rivets (AH) through the smaller (7 mm) holes. The alignment mark should be parallel to the edge that the push rivet is located in as indicated in the image below. The push rivets have 2 parts – 1: the lower part inserts into the hole and the 2: the top part is then pushed in which expands the rivet and locks it in place.

Using the Slot Cover Profile The slot cover profile (K) is supplied for use as a dust cover, panel holder, or to route cables in the slots in the extrusion. When inserted with the flat side facing out, the extruded plastic profile covers the T-slot in the frame, preventing dust and dirt build up for clean applications. -
