SYSTEM FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION 1. Transmitter KANNAD 406 SURVIVAL is designed to transmit on three frequencies (121.5, 243 and 406 MHz).The two basic aeronautical emergency frequencies (121.5 and 243 MHz) are mainly used for homing in the final stages of the rescue operations.

DISPOSAL 1. End of life statement At the end of KANNAD 406 Survival useful life, the Battery Pack must be removed from the main unit to prevent false alerts. False alerts cause expensive disruption to Search And Rescue services and may endanger lives as a consequence.
