We designed the WellionVet BELUA Blood Glucose and Ketone Monitoring System to be accurate and easy to use. Your new WellionVet BELUA Blood Glucose and Ketone Monitoring System is designed with convenience and accuracy in mind to make your life easier. To ensure the test results are accurate on every test, we created designated test strips and unique code chips for the measurement of blood sugar or ketones in a cat, a dog or a cow.

    Meter Display Screen Code - indicates that the Type of Animal - Displays the type of the animal the test strip is number on the main numerical intended to test for.     Keep the bottle tightly closed and stored properly. Immediately close the bottle cap after taking out a test strip. WellionVet  BELUA cat&dog ketone test strips can be used for cats and dogs. WellionVet BELUA cow ketone test strips can be used for dairy cows. WellionVet ketone test strips are single packed in foil, use the test strip immediately after removing from its foil packaging.

    SETTING UP YOUR NEW METER Setting the Clock, Date and Time Your WellionVet BELUA Meter is preset to Central European Time Zone (UTC +1:00). If you want to change time and date, please follow the steps below. You will need: Your WellionVet BELUA meter Step 1: With no test strip being inserted into the meter, press and hold OK button for 2 seconds to turn on the meter.
  • Page 14 Step 4 - Set Month: The current month will flash. Press the arrow buttons to select the correct month. Press OK to confirm your choice and advance to set the day. Step 5 - Set Day: The current day will flash. Press the arrow buttons to select the correct day.

    Setting the Alarms You can set up a total of 6 alarms, 3 for glucose and 3 for ketone, on your WellionVet BELUA Meter. The default setting for all alarms is off. You must set the clock before you can set the alarms.

NOTE: If the meter display screen shows “Er 5, Meter failure” call your local dealer. Step 2: After the meter displays the code number and the test strip icon, press OK button once to go into setup screen, then press the arrow buttons until the alarm clock symbol starts to flash.

    HOW TO CHOOSE THE BEST PUNCTURE SITE Consult your veterinarian to get recommendations for the best sampling method and information on preferred puncture site for your animal.     • Perform testing with the WellionVet BELUA only on dogs, cats, or dairy cows. DO NOT test on other species of animals or human. Step 1: Set up the meter according to this user guide. Make sure you choose the appropriate code card for the type of testing parameter and animal you are testing.
  • Page 27 Step 2: Insert the test strip and verify the code number displayed on the meter matches the code number printed on the test strip bottle. Close the test strip bottle immediately. Step 3: The meter will now self-test the environment temperature.
  • Page 28 IMPORTANT: • After removing a test strip from the bottle close the bottle cap immediately. • Do not use wet, bent, or scratched test strips. • Test strip should be used within 10 minutes after removing from the bottle. • Store the test strip bottle in a dry, cool place and keep away from direct sunlight and heat.
  • Page 29 When the blood icon appears, apply blood to the test strip by holding the meter and allow the test strip tip to sip in the blood at the sampling site, without actually touching the skin. The meter will beep after receiving enough blood and begin to count down. Step 6: The meter will display testing result after countdown.

    • Refer to the test strip insert for additional information. METER MEMORY The WellionVet BELUA Blood Glucose and Ketone Meter for Animals automatically stores up to 500 glucose and 100 ketone readings, including control solution testing results, with date and time. For blood glucose measurements, the meter also provides 1, 7, 14, 30, 60 and 90 days averaging to help track blood glucose trend.

    Step 4B - Ketone memory recall 1. The first result appeared will be the latest testing result. Using the arrow buttons key can scroll through all available testing results. 2. When the screen displays “End, ” this means the meter have already displayed all of its memorized results.

    • Do not take the meter apart. Doing so will void the warranty. If there are technical problems or questions, call our authorized dealer for assistance. CHANGING THE BATTERIES The WellionVet BELUA Meter operates on two 3V Lithium coin cell batteries. When the LCD screen displays a flashing battery icon , this indicates the batteries are low and should be replaced as soon as possible.

    Step 3: Re-place the battery compartment cover. NOTE: • To save battery power, the WellionVet  BELUA Meter will turn itself off after 3  minutes of non-use. All results stored in memory will be saved even if the meter shuts off automatically.

    WARNINGS If you are still unable to correct the problem after following the above suggestions, call your local dealer for help.
