  • Page 3 Read this instruction manual carefully before putting the THALES MAGNIFIER into operation. The THALES MAGNIFIER is a Class I product. It is essential that it is connected to a mains socket outlet with a protective earthing connection. Never try to open your THALES MAGNIFIER when it is powered to prevent the risk of electric shock and burns. Switch it OFF and remove the mains cable from the power supply before any intervention into your THALES MAGNIFIER.

  • Page 8 Connecting the Power Supply Important Information Before connecting the Power Supply of the THALES MAGNI- FIER to the mains, make sure the Input Voltage stated on the Type Plate (1) complies with the mains of your local electric- ity supply.
  • Page 9 Phono Input Stage The THALES MAGNIFIER features two balanced phono inputs for Moving Coil cartridges (MC). Connect the signal output of your turntable to the Balanced Phono Input (MC 1 or MC 2) Connect the GND-plug of your turntable or tonearm to the GND-connector (3) of the phono section.
  • Page 10 Line Input Stage The THALES MAGNIFIER features two line-inputs, one for a single- ended and one for a balanced device. Line Input RCA Connect the signal output of any single-ended device to the RCA- connection (1) of the Line Input stage.
  • Page 11 Line Output Stage The THALES MAGNIFIER features two line-outputs, one for a single- ended and one for a balanced device. They work independently of each other, so can use both at the same time. If none of them is acti- vated, the unit is muted.
  • Page 12 Remote Control The THALES MAGNIFIER comes with a remote control to operate the volume of the device. The remote uses an infrared connection. When using the remote control, make sure there is visual contact be- tween the transmitter of the remote and the infrared receiver of the main unit.
  • Page 13 Operation Once the power-switch of the power-supply is switched on, the main unit is ready to be configured for operation: Push the Operation Switch (1). While the button lights in red colour, the unit is warming up. Once the button lights in white colour, the amplifier is in operation.
