Page 7 1. General safety instructions Avoid unintentional commissioning. Make sure the power tool is turned off before connecting, picking up or carrying it to the power supply and/or battery. If you have your finger on the switch when carrying the power tool or if you connect the unit to the power supply switched on, this can lead to accidents.

Page 9 2. Special security measures Sawing technology Assume a safe working position with a firm stand. Always hold the machine firmly with both hands. Always stand parallel to the blade when sawing. Never stand exactly behind it, because in case of a kickback the chain saw moves in the plane of the sword. Never use the chain saw's kickback area for cutting.
Page 10 2. Special security measures If the diamond chain jams or you interrupt the work, switch off the machine and keep it steady until the chain has come to a standstill. Never try to pull the still running diamond chain out of the cut, otherwise a kickback may occur. Determine and eliminate the cause of jamming.

T E C H N I C A L D E S C R I P T I O N Your DRS-KS400 is an electrically operated diamond chain saw which is exclusively designed for cutting stone, concrete and masonry intended for commercial use.
Page 12 The complete saw unit consists of the drive unit [2] with switch handle [1], an adjustable handle [3] and the chain housing [4]. The DRS-KS400 is electrically supplied via the frequency converter FU6U. DRS-KS400 and FU6U are protected against water jets, i.e. no water can get into the motor when used as intended.

4. Preparation P R E P A R A T I O N Make sure that the machine has not been damaged during transport. Check that the Mains voltage corresponds to the voltage specified on the nameplate. 4.1 Electrical connection 4.1.1 230V ~ Only connect the DRS-K400 via the FU6U frequency converter to a properly earthed earthed socket using the supplied adapter cable.

Page 16 4. Preparation All chains have a tendency to stretch under load. If the distance between driving link and centreboard is greater than 12 mm (1/2"), the chain must be retensioned (see distance A). Raise the tip of the sword by hand and close. Put the eccentric lever in vertical position.

6. Cleaning / Maintenance OPERATION Material The chain saw may only be used for cutting rock, concrete and masonry. The saw must not be used for cutting pure metals. For cutting ductile iron pipes, special chains are available from specialist dealers. When cutting reinforced concrete, try to cut the reinforcement together with as much concrete as possible - this protects the chain.
Page 18 6. Cleaning / Maintenance Pre-cutting If you are using an angle grinder for pre-cutting, make sure that the thickness of the pre-cutting blade is matched to the diamond chain. Never use an angle grinder with a conventional cutting disc for pre-cutting. The narrow saw groove created in this case will cause the diamond chain to jam and can lead to dangerous kickback.

7. Frequency inverter F R E Q U E N C Y I N V E R T E R The diamond chain saw DRS-K400 is controlled by the water-cooled frequency converter FU6U. Operate the frequency converter only via a residual current circuit breaker type B. After switching on the main switch, please wait approx.
