However, no piece of marine electronic equipment can function properly unless installed, calibrated, and maintained in the correct manner.

2.3 SIM Card 2.3.1 Included SIM Card The SMS200 is supplied with a pre-installed SIM card for Nearshore Networks. Please refer to the instructions supplied with the SMS200 for SIM card activation. Please check Maretron’s website for the latest information. 2.3.2 Installing Your Own SIM Card If you prefer to use your own cellular service rather than the supplied Nearshore Networks service, you will need to install your own SIM card into the SMS200.

Figure 2 – NMEA 2000 ® Connector Face Views 2.5.2 Cellular Antenna Connection The SMS200 has one external SMA cellular antenna connector. This connector is intended for use only with the included cellular antenna. Screw the antenna onto the SMA connector and tighten until snug.
3.1 Configuring with a DSM-series Display 3.1.1 Maretron SMS200 Configuration This describes the configuration of the Maretron SMS200 firmware version 2.0.1.9. The display may be used to configure the Device Instance and Installation Description on the SMS (Text) Module (SMS200). After selecting the SMS200 from the list of devices on the network, the following screen will be displayed.

You may enter text into these fields with information specific to the device, such as date installed, the initials/name of the installer, the physical location of the device, etc.
