We recommend that you keep this manual together with the instru- ment for quick reference. Whenever the VIS-LED 2 needs to be sent back to the factory, e.g. in case of repairs or for maintenance purposes, please make sure that the instrument is cleaned and disinfected (if neces- sary).

Unpacking and Installation The illuminator VIS-LED 2 is adjusted in the factory and shipped in a secure packing. After opening the packaging, please make sure that the delivery is complete, and that the illuminator has not been damaged during transport.

ZEISS. In ei- ther case, microscope or external power supply unit may already be switched on when the illuminator is connected. Select the VIS-LED 2 on the stand TFT monitor or the Micro Toolbox software, if applicable.

Do not modify cable or connector! • Optional: Connect the BNC connector of the trigger input at the back of the illuminator housing with the trigger output of the trigger source.

The illuminator VIS-LED 2 must not be operated with a dangerously live voltage according to DIN EN IEC 61010-1! The trigger input of the VIS-LED 2 may only be con- nected to the trigger source through the BNC cable contained in the scope of delivery of the trigger box!
Operating the VIS-LED 2 The illuminator VIS-LED 2 can only be operated with ZEISS microscopes or with ZEISS-certified external power supplies. Risk of fire: To avoid overheating, do not cover the VIS-LED 2 during operation, (e. g. with a dust cover)! The configuration of a trigger (level high/low, flanks rising/falling) needs to be set in the ZEN software.
In case of stronger contaminations, optical surfaces can be cleaned with a soft cloth, moistened with pure alcohol. The housing of the VIS-LED 2 can be cleaned with a soft cloth, wettened with isopropyl alcohol. During the cleaning procedure, please make sure that no...
Troubleshooting The illuminator VIS-LED 2 requires only an absolute minimum of action by the user. In case of a malfunction, i.e. if no light is emitted or the illuminator reacts unexpectedly to control commands from the software, please contact our Technical Service Department by calling +49 6441 20040 or by sending a mail to info@hund.de.

No maintenance or repair work may be carried out on the VIS-LED 2 unless specifically stated in these operat- ing instructions.
