To ensure the security of the system, the configuration options for customers and the internal configuration options are treated differently. The devices can be operated as PROFINET and as PROFIsafe device. But only the manufacturer W. Gessmann can define the PROFINET or PROFIsafe operation of each module.

PROFIsafe modules according to 2.6.1 are omitted so that older systems can accept them as well. For setting the F-destination or F-source address of the PROFIsafe device, the software "PN-Device-Configurator" of W. Gessmann GmbH must be used. The concrete assignment is defined in the wiring diagram.
5 Commissioning During commissioning of the V85 PROFINET / PROFIsafe device, there are no special features compared to other PROFINET devices. However, a brief check of the status LEDs is recommended. The following table explain the status LEDs. These LEDs can be used to determine the device status.
