Congratulations on your purchase of a Dynatek USB Adaptor. Please take a moment to read these instructions
completely before use. The installation will only take a few minutes.
Note: The Dynatek USB Adaptor is compatible with the DFS, D3K, ARC2, and the 2000i product line only.
Installation
1)
Before plugging the USB Adaptor into a USB cable attached to your computer, the driver must be installed.
The driver installation is included with all current CurveMaker installations. (Installation files whose names
end with .msi). The driver installer, CDM 2.02.04.exe, is also available at
http://www.dynaonline.com/skins/downloads/
2)
After driver installation, plug the USB Adaptor into a USB cable attached to your computer. Both LEDs will
flash, and Windows will report new hardware found: serial Adaptor. After Windows has identified the USB
Adaptor, open CurveMaker, you are ready to program your ignition.
3)
When you're finished programming, unplug the USB Adaptor from the ignition, and replace the dust cap on
ignition's programming cable.
Notes:
Do not leave the USB Adaptor connected to the ignition. The USB adapter is not water resistant.
After Windows has located the USB Adaptor, the "PC DATA" LED will flash when the pc is sending data to the
ignition. The "IGN. DATA" LED will flash when the ignition is sending data to the PC.
If the USB Adaptor is removed from the USB cable with CurveMaker open, it may be necessary close and re-open
CurveMaker to re-identify the USB Adaptor.
A fully powered USB port is required. Some external USB hubs are not fully powered. Connect the USB cable
directly to your laptop or desktop. Many laptops power down the USB ports in standby. If this happens, it may be
necessary to re-open CurveMaker.
Remove the USB Adaptor from the USB cable before running CurveMaker installations. CDM 2.02.04 will wait
until the USB Adaptor is unplugged, and Installation Complete will not be reported.
