    These regulations may change at any time. INTENDED USE The intended use of your Project BMX is to be ridden by one adult rider (Age 16 and up) and up to 120kg at a time for personal transportation and recreational use.

    TO PREVENT SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH • Read all safety warnings and all instructions. • Always ride within your limits and the limits of your Project BMX. ALWAYS ride at speeds at which you are comfortable without power or brakes.

    THIS BIKE MUST BE ASSEMBLED BY A PROFESSIONAL FOR PROPER AND SAFE FUNCTION. IMPROPER UNPACKING AND ASSEMBLY CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE BIKE AND/ OR BODILY HARM AND IS NOT COVERED BY THE EVOLVE BIKES WARRANTY. • Be aware that bikes need maintenance and upkeep periodically. It is recommended to check all bolts and test all mechanical components before each ride.

  • Page 17 UNBOXING Open the box. Be careful to not to damage the bike with sharp tools while removing any packaging. Your bike comes mostly pre-assembled, with the front wheel and handlebars strapped to the frame of the bike. Lift the bike out of the box with another person's assistance.

    SEAT POST INSTALL Loosen the hex bolt on the seat post clamp completely (1), gently lift and install the seat post into the frame make note of the minimum insertion mark on the seat post (2). Ensure the cable fed into the frame and is not obstructing 6-8NM (4).

    SADDLE INSTALL To install the saddle, loosen the hex bolts (1) either side of the saddle rail clamp on the seat post. Do not completely remove, the side clamps should remain attached to the seat post. Place the saddle rails in the grooves either side of the seat post (2). Ensure the rails are sitting in the grooves.

    HANDLEBARS Using a 6MM Allen key, loosen the 2 Stem Bolts (1) from the sides of the handlebar Stem. Rotate the Stem and forks (2) to face the front of the bike (3). Ensure the Stem is facing the front of the bike (1) and is parallel to the frame (2).
  • Page 21 Using a 6MM Allen key. Remove the 4 Stem Bolts (A) from the top of the handlebar Stem and remove the Stem Clamp (B). Lift the handle bars in place and loosely assemble the Stem Bolts and Stem Clamp to hold the handlebars in place. Position the handlebars at an upright angle.
  • Page 22 Position the handlebars with the knurling centered inside the handlebar clamp (1). Make sure that the control cables are not tangled or kinked (2). NOTE: POSITION OF FRONT AND REAR BRAKE LEVER IS DEPENDANT ON REGION. ENSURE YOU ARE AWARE WHICH BRAKE IS CONTROLLED BY EACH LEVER BEFORE RIDING.

    FRONT FORK AND FRONT WHEEL Remove the plastic axle brace (1). Prepare the front wheel axle for mounting by loosening the front axle nuts and retainer washers. Lift the bike from the handlebars to lower the front forks onto the front wheel axle (2).

    PEDALS RIGHT SIDE Ensure you have the correct pedal. Identify the on the threaded spindle of the pedals (1). It is advised to heavily grease the threaded spindles before installation. Thread the spindle onto the crank arms by hand, ensure the threads of the pedal match the grooves on your crank arm to avoid damage to the threads.

    REFLECTORS Your bicycle is supplied with a re ector kit based on the requirements of your region. These are an important safety and legal requirement, and should remain securely tted and in good, clean conditions at all times. Periodically, inspect all re ectors, brackets and mounting hardware for signs of wear or damage.

    TORQUING AND ALIGNMENT FRONT WHEEL ALIGNMENT Be sure that the axle is completely settled in the axle slots (1), retainer 29.4–44NM (3). washers are in place (2) and the axle nuts are torqued to PLEASE REFER TO TIRE PRESSURE (PG29) WARNING BEFORE RIDING.
  • Page 27 STEM, FORK & HANDLEBAR The stem controls your handlebar alignment and must be tted correctly for safe riding. The steerer tube and stem must be tight and exhibit no "play". You can check this by loosening the bolts on the side of the stem (1) and tightening the cap bolt (2) to pull the "stack"...
  • Page 28 CRANK ARMS ALIGNMENT 23 NM. Crank bolts should be checked and torqued to Apply light grease whenever re-assembling. Do not over tighten due to risk of stripping the bolts. REAR WHEEL & CHAIN ADJUSTMENT Rear wheel alignment and chain tension should be checked often. Electric bikes sustain higher speeds and forces than standard bikes.
  • Page 29 SADDLE ADJUSTMENTS HEIGHT NOTE: SEAT POST CONTAINS ELECTRONIC CABLING. FAILURE TO ADJUST PROPERLY AS OUTLINED BELOW OR OUTSIDE THE ACCEPTABLE RANGE MAY RESULT IN DAMAGE TO YOUR BIKES ELECTRONIC SYSTEM. 1. Use a hex tool to loosen the seat post clamp screw. 2.

    4. Raise the saddle to a position so that toe of other foot can touch the ground. Ride must be able to straddle the bicycle with at least 25.4mm (1inch) clearance above the top tube. 5. Adjust the saddle angle and front to back position. The saddle should be parallel to the ground and aligned straight with the bicycle frame.

    BRAKE ADJUSTMENT WARNING IF ADJUSTMENTS ARE NOT CARRIED OUT CORRECTLY, PROBLEMS MAY OCCUR. THIS CAN RESULT IN SERIOUS INJURY. IF UNSURE, ADJUSTMENTS SHOULD BE DONE BY A PROFESSIONAL FOR PROPER AND SAFE FUNCTION. KEEP FINGERS AWAY FROM THE ROTATING DISC BRAKE ROTOR. SHARP EDGES CAN CAUSE INJURY IF CAUGHT IN OPENINGS WHILE THE DISC ROTOR IS MOVING.
  • Page 32 BRAKE ADJUSTMENT As brake pads and cables wear, slack can be taken up by the barrel adjusters. If the lever touches the handlebars, the brake cable is too loose. If you can barely squeeze it at all, the cable is too tight. If the brake lever is too loose, adjust the barrel adjuster away from the brake lever housing;...

    PRE-RIDE CHECKLIST 1. BEFORE EACH RIDE, INSPECT YOUR BIKE FOR DAMAGE. DO NOT RIDE IF DAMAGED. 2. CHECK BOTH THE FRONT AND REAR WHEELS ARE ALIGNED AND SECURE 3. BE SURE TO MAINTAIN TYRE PRESSURE BETWEEN MIN 40 - MAX 65 PSI. 2.8 -4.5 BAR 280-450 KPA 4.

    INSTALL BATTERY EXERCISE CAUTION WHEN INSTALLING THE BATTERY, AS THERE IS A WARNING POTENTIAL PINCH POINT BETWEEN THE UNDERSIDE OF THE SADDLE, SADDLE RAILS AND BATTERY. To install your battery into the Saddle, ensure the battery is turned off. Ensure the battery is off and check there is no obstacle inside the Saddle. Shift the Drive System Cable to the side.

    BATTERY CHARGING ALWAYS charge your battery before use to maintain the best battery health. There is a charging port on the battery. To access, ex the cover to the side (1) and Insert the Charger Cable (2). You can remove the battery from the saddle and charge in another location or charge it when assembled to the saddle.

    REMOVE BATTERY EXERCISE CAUTION WHEN REMOVING THE BATTERY, AS THERE IS A WARNING POTENTIAL PINCH POINT BETWEEN THE UNDERSIDE OF THE SADDLE, SADDLE RAILS AND BATTERY. To remove your battery from the Saddle dock, ensure the battery is turned off. On the underside of the battery, press the Push Button Lock in.

    WALK ASSIST The Walk Assistance function propels the bike forward at slow speeds when you are walking alongside it. This mode is ideal when walking your bike up hills. To activate Walk Assist, Ensure you have your hands on your handlebars and the bike is motionless.

    BATTERY CAPACITY The battery capacity is indicated with 5 levels. When the lowest level indicator ashes that means battery needs to charge.     INSPECTION & MAINTENANCE This section is intended to be a general guide for inspecting your bicycle. Detailed instructions for maintenance and repair will be found in the "Assembly and Adjustment" section of this manual. GENERAL Nuts and bolts should be re-tightened every 1- 2 weeks. Check frequently for damaged parts, fork alignment, and positioning of all components.

CHAIN Check frequently for damage or stretch, replacing when necessary. Lubricate often, taking care to oil each link. SADDLE ADJUSTMENT Adjust height and angle for comfort. Do not raise seat past the MINIMUM INSERTION mark.

    STORING YOUR BIKE AND BATTERY Always store your Project BMX and battery indoors in a dry space, away from heat, hot surfaces or ame sources and out of direct sunlight. Avoid magnetic objects and ensure the room is ventilated.
