iRIS Wi-Fi Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
1. Do I need to create an account for the iRIS WiFi?
In order to save settings and allow multiple users to control the device, you will need to create
an account.
You can login as a guest, but access to the home control settings will be limited.
2. I am getting a text box that said 'The location permission is not enabled, so the device cannot read
the network information' what do I do?
Select the 'settings' (in Smart Life app) box that is shown underneath while in the Smart Life app
and turn location services to 'on'.
3. What functions do I need enabled on my phone?
Enable Bluetooth
Enable Location services
Note: Enabling these phone services will greatly improve the ease of establishing a WiFi connection
to the device.
4. Do I need to be connected to WIFI to pair to the iRIS WiFi unit?
Yes, ensure your phone is connected to a 2.4GHz WiFi network to pair to the device.
Most networks are dual band and can automatically separate 2.4GHz and 5GHz to allow the iRIS
WiFi to connect with the 2.4GHz network.
5. I am not seeing any iRIS WiFi unit icon that resembles the unit on the 'add device' page within the
Smart Life app after plugging in the device.
Ensure the unit is powered on (plugged into wall-switch) and the Status Light next to the pairing
button is flashing yellow/green (ready to pair). If not flashing, press the button for at least 5
seconds to go into flashing red, then wait several seconds for the LED to flash Yellow/Green.
Ensure that the phone's Bluetooth mode is enabled.
If still not available on the "Add Devices" page after ~30 seconds, then proceed to "Add
Manually", refer to 45.
6. Will my lights operate on a schedule I set after my phone has disconnected from the network?
Yes, the device will auto save any schedule once it has been set and won't require constant
connection.
7. Can I share the device on multiple phones?
You can have multiple phones login under the same account and control the device through
each phone.
You can create a 'home' using one main account on the Smart life app and invite other user
accounts to your home and give them basic or admin rights to control the iRIS WiFi
