    9237397 BENCHTOP ROUTER TABLE WITH 1-3/4HP ROUTER V 4.0 INTRODUCTION The router table offers you excellent control when shaping, profiling or cutting decorative edges in wood, MDF and acrylics. It has a speed rating of 20,000 RPM, a depth range of 1-3/16 in. and comes with two wrenches and carbon brushes.

Correct the issue before using the router table to avoid an injury or damage to the tool. Always be aware of the position of your hands relative to the router table.

Maintain control of a long workpiece or large panel by placing supports under the material on either side of the router table. Always make sure the work surface is free from debris or other foreign objects.

    9237397 BENCHTOP ROUTER TABLE WITH 1-3/4HP ROUTER V 4.0 Do not allow people, mobile equipment or vehicles to pass over unprotected power cords. Position power cords away from high traffic areas. Place cords in reinforced conduits or place planks on either side of the power cord to create a protective trench.
  • Page 9 V4.0 BENCHTOP ROUTER TABLE WITH 1-3/4HP ROUTER 9237397 Insert a machine screw through the top of the worktable and through the leg's flange. Slide a spring lock washer onto the bolt and secure with a nut. Repeat with three more bolts, spring washers and nuts.

    9237397 BENCHTOP ROUTER TABLE WITH 1-3/4HP ROUTER V 4.0 Slide a flat washer over a wood screw that is long enough to penetrate the benchtop at least a 1/2 in. Insert the screw through each corner hole in the legs and secure the base to the bench top.
  • Page 11 V4.0 BENCHTOP ROUTER TABLE WITH 1-3/4HP ROUTER 9237397 INSTALLING THE CUTTER Remove the safety switch's yellow safety tab and set aside. Replace the cutter based on the type of cut being performed. Choose a regular cutter if you are shaping an interior or exterior edge.

    V4.0 BENCHTOP ROUTER TABLE WITH 1-3/4HP ROUTER 9237397 Decide if you are creating a partial or full edge cut. Use either a cutter with a pilot or a flat top cutter that has an edge along the top for a partial cut Use a plunge cutter or a straight edge cutter for a full cut.
  • Page 14 9237397 BENCHTOP ROUTER TABLE WITH 1-3/4HP ROUTER V 4.0 A push stick is a slender tool with a notch that fits over a workpiece's end or side edge to push it into the fence and/or push it into the tool's bit or blade.The push stick is best with narrow workpieces when creating a rip cut (parallel to the grain).

The cutter will grab the wood instead of cutting it and eject it from the router table. You or a bystander may be injured by an ejected workpiece or unexpected exposure to the cutter.

Install a router cutter that has a cutting edge all the way across the top, such as an upcut spiral cutter or some straight cutters.

  • Page 19 V4.0 BENCHTOP ROUTER TABLE WITH 1-3/4HP ROUTER 9237397 Sometimes the width of the cut for a dado or groove will exceed the largest cutter diameter you have. In these cases multiple cuts are required. Set-up the router table for a cut or plunge cut.

    9237397 BENCHTOP ROUTER TABLE WITH 1-3/4HP ROUTER V 4.0 Grip the workpiece firmly and slowly move the workpiece into the lower half of the cutter, taking shallow cuts. • A shallow cut along the cutter's bottom will force the workpiece backward into the mitre gauge, providing support and resistance.

Replace brushes when they have about 1/4 in. remaining or the brush displays signs of breakage, crumbling or burning. Remove the brush cap from the brush holder on each side of the motor housing.
