Introduction

1 Introduction
This chapter is intended to present you the MicroLink 56k Fun USB and its
most important features. It also includes short explanations about the com-
munications software Classic PhoneTools of BVRP and the firewall and anti-
virus software Norman Internet Control.
1.1

What does the devolo modem have to offer?

Simple installation
USB port
Because of the USB port the MicroLink 56k Fun USB does not require power
from an external power adapter. It is also automatically detected on installa-
tion by plug&play.
Status display
The LED lights on the front of the device show the modem status, simplifying
diagnosis in the event of possible system problems and allowing the data
transfer to be monitored. The MicroLink 56k Fun USB has 3 LEDs on the front
panel.
