    The WaveRadar REX² is the fourth generation, non-contact wave, tide and air-gap measurement instrument to be developed by the partnership of RS Aqua and Rosemount Tank Gauging.     RS Aqua’s WaveRadar REX is a variant of the Rosemount™ 5408 Level Transmitter (Modbus), manufactured by Rosemount Tank Radar AB under exclusive license for RS Aqua Ltd. This transmitter has been subject to various third-party approvals including FM-US/FM- C/ATEX/IECEx, EMC, CE, Radio Equipment Directive, FCC and IC approvals with respect to radio (USA and Canada).

Remove lid by first removing 6 marked screws. In the underside lid storage, you will find accessories and documentation.

    The data output is MODBUS RS-485. System integration will depend on the data processing / data logging architecture. If required, RS Aqua supply an Advantech RS-485 to USB converter. Many types of signal converter are available and can be used at the user’s discretion.

This can be used to set the range, burst output rate, hold off distance and has a diagnostics function.

    RS Aqua Ltd WaveRadar REX Operating Manual Issue A – May 2020 The WaveRadar REX should be mounted directly over the water mass being measured with a clear view of the water. Any obstructions have the potential to be detected by the WaveRadar which may lead to invalid measurements.

    RS Aqua Ltd WaveRadar REX Operating Manual Issue A – May 2020 6.5.1 Cable Selection For the signal RS-485 bus, use shielded twisted pair wiring with a characteristic impedance of 120 Ω (typically 24 AWG). For the power supply, use 24-14 AWG wire. Twisted pairs and shielded wiring are recommended for environments with high EMI (electromagnetic interference).

Attach and tighten the cover. Verify the cover jam screw housing is completely threaded into the housing.
