    Safe operation depends on reliable equipment and the use of proper operating pro- cedures. Performing the checks and services described in this manual will help to keep your Gradall in reliable condition and use of the recommended operating pro- cedures can help you avoid unsafe practices. Because some procedures may be new to even the experienced operator we recommend that this manual be read, understood and followed by all who operate the Gradall.

  • Page 13 If either engine fails to start in 30 seconds, release CAUTION the key and allow the starting motor to cool off for a few minutes before trying again. Do not operate the Gradall with only one engine operating, this can cause damage to WARNING the engine not operating.

    BUCKE T INSTALL AT IO N WARNING Keep boom in fully extended position while installing bucket. Stay clear of bucket and boom until bucket adapter has been fitted to bucket as shown in Step 3. Position adapter above Lower boom until bucket tube seats firmly within Block bucket.

    2. When ditch cleaning from the road on a truck-mounted Gradall, travel with traffic toward the unclean end of the ditch, for a clear view of the cleaned ditch, the road shoulder, and the truck hauling the spoil.
  • Page 26 Emerg en cy Par t s K i ts If the Gradall is working in remote or hard–to–get–to areas, one of the emergency parts kits avail- able should be kept with the machine. These kits are good insurance against downtime due to minor repairs or replacements.

If your machine is working in an extremely dusty area or in extra damp conditions, it would be well to grease more often than specified on the lubrication chart.
