The uneven spooling of cable, while pulling a load, is not a problem unless there is a cable pile up on one end of the drum.

Draping a heavy blanket or similar object over the extended winch cable is recommended as it will dampen any back lash should failure occur. 11. Neat, tight spooling avoids cable binding which is caused when a load is applied and the cable is pinched between the others.

Vehicle movement in combination with winch operation may overload the cable and/or the winch and cause damaging shock loads. Shock loads when winching are dangerous! A shock load occurs when an increased force is suddenly applied to the cable.

It is highly recommended that the winch be used regularly (once a month). Simply power the cable out 15m, free spool 5m and then power back in. This will keep all components in good working condition so that the winch can be relied on when needed. Contact RealTruck for technical assistance. Install the Fairlead (#4) to your bumper using two M10 Cap Head Screws (#16), M10 Flat Washers (#13), M10 Lock Washers (#14) and M10 Square Nuts (#12).

Locate the supplied Winch Ground Cable (#18) and install it on the threaded hole. 10. Disconnect the vehicle battery leads. Route the long red positive cable and black ground cale to the battery.

Use tow hooks, recovery eyes or a clevis mount for attachment of a tow strap or winch synthetic rope. Warning: Do not use a ball and/or ball mount as an anchor point for tow strap or winch synthetic rope. Severe personal injury or death could occur.

Part # XG-W10000KB & XG-W13000KB Traction Recovery Winch Use of a Nylon Sling and Shackle 1. Always attempt to get the synthetic rope as straight as possible to the direction of the vehicle. It is acceptable to start a pull at an angle if it is obvious that the vehicle will turn towards the hook anchoring point. Turning the steering wheel will assist the process.
Part # XG-W10000KB & XG-W13000KB Traction Recovery Winch Use of a Nylon Sling and Shackle 1. The safe working load of the nylon sling is based on the use of both eye ends. Do not use the cable or hook to con- nect directly to the nylon sling.
