Choosing a Text Entry Mode

Press in any text entry screen to select one of the
following entry modes:
The primary text entry mode (see the
Primary
following section).
Enter numbers only (see page 24).
Numeric
Enter symbols only (see page 24).
Symbol
The secondary text entry mode (see
Secondary
below to set).
Alternatively, you can select a text entry mode in any text
M
entry screen by pressing >
Entry Mode.
Setting Up a Text Entry Mode

Press > from any text entry screen. Select
Entry Setup
or Setup, and choose:
Primary Setup Secondary
Let the phone predict each word as
iTAP
you press keys (see page 22).
Enter letters and numbers by pressing
Tap
a key one or more times.
Enter letters, numbers, and symbols
Tap Extended
by pressing a key one or more times.
Hide the Secondary setting (only
None
available for Secondary Setup).
Using Capitalisation
0
Press in any text entry screen to change text case. The
following indicators show capitalisation status:
= no capital letters = capitalise next letter
only
= all capital letters
Text Entry Mode Indicators
When you select the or text entry mode, the
Primary Secondary
following indicators identify the text entry setting:
Primary Second.
Tap, no capital letters
Tap, capitalise next letter
only
