    Chapter 2 Installing CardScan If a Previous Version is Installed If you have a previous version of CardScan on your PC, you may have to do the following: Disconnect the scanner. Uninstall the existing Cardscan software. Install the new CardScan software (see page 2-2).

    Creating Contacts by Dragging and Dropping Text from Emails and Electronic Documents You can create contacts in a CardScan file by selecting text in another application then dragging and dropping it into List view. This is useful for creating contacts from emails or electronic letters.

    Editing Phone and Email Labels Adding Phone Numbers In CardScan, each contact displays one phone and one fax number. You can add and label six more phone and fax numbers. You can label phone and fax numbers using CardScan’s list of labels.

    Type the contact information, and click the arrow on the left to open the label dropdown list. Choose a label from the dropdown list or type your own label in the blank field. The dropdown list contains labels entered previously. If you type a label, it is saved in the dropdown list for future use.

    Select multiple contacts to manipulate them at once. Reviewing the Status of Your Contacts From List view you can learn a lot about the status of your contact information. The symbols next to the contacts above tell you which contacts have not been verified.

    About CardScan.Net Synchronization Synchronization keeps the CardScan.Net and local copies of a CardScan file identical. It handles very large files as reliably as small ones. If you have an account on CardScan.Net, the synchronization is turned on automatically whenever your PC is connected to the Internet and CardScan is running.

    • Synchronize all files in the CardScan.Net account. Synchronizing One File To synchronize one file: Open the file. (If more than one file is open, click on the file to synchronize.) Choose CardScan.Net→Synchronize “filename”. Synchronizing All Files If you use manual (rather than automatic) synchronization, you can synchronize all CardScan.Net-enabled files.
