WHITE BALANCE
Canon iSAPS Technology helps ensure fast,
accurate, automatic white balance compensation.
PowerShot cameras also let you select from preset
modes covering common lighting conditions
including daylight, cloudy, tungsten, fluorescent,
flash, or underwater. You can even perform a
manual white balance adjustment using a white
reference target, storing the measurement as
a custom setting for later recall.
Daylight: For shooting outdoors on sunny days.
Cloudy: For shooting outdoors on cloudy days.
Tungsten: Provides a good balance with
photofloods or incandescent household lights.
Fluorescent: Compensates for the greenish cast
caused by common fluorescent tubes.
Fluorescent H: For recording under daylight
fluorescent lighting.
Flash: A good starting point with many studio strobes.
Underwater*: For shooting underwater.**
SAFETY
ZOOM
SAFETY ZOOM*
Set a minimum acceptable megapixel count for
images taken when using the digital zoom, and
Safety Zoom will let you make optimal use of
the digital zoom range. The zoom pauses at the
end of your preset safety range, rather than at
the end of the optical zoom range.
DIGITAL TELE-CONVERTER*
The digital tele-converter feature lets you shoot
subjects at great distances without mounting a
separate tele converter lens. Simply select one
of two magnification levels from the menu.
16:9 WIDESCREEN RESOLUTION*
Select PowerShot models feature a Widescreen
recording setting. Images captured in Widescreen
have a 16:9 aspect ratio, so you'll see no warping
or cropping when viewing them on widescreen
televisions or computer monitors.

Select PowerShot models give you the ultimate
convenience of recording HD movies from a still

or 720p HD (1280 x 720 pixels), for dazzling
clarity and realism. Additional features available

VGA MOVIE RECORDING
All PowerShot cameras offer smooth 30 fps,
high quality movie clips captured in VGA (640 x
480). Some models also have VGA LP mode or
QVGA mode (320 x 240). Zoom and exposure
compensation continue to work on both stills
and movies as does Face Detection AF/AE/FE/WB.
MOVIESNAP*
Great shots can happen at any time, even while
you're recording a movie. MovieSnap lets you
capture a special moment as a high-resolution
still image while simultaneously shooting a
movie: simply press the shutter button down
fully. The camera will record the image at the
same resolution and compression rate you've
previously selected.
** With an optional waterproof case except for D10.
LCD/Playback Features
PURECOLOR SYSTEM LCD*
Canon's PureColor System LCD gives its

COATING FOR LCD SCREENS
& WIDE VIEWING ANGLE*
Many PowerShot models with 2.5-inch to
3.0-inch LCD screens now have an extra measure
of durability: a stain-, dust-, scratch-, and
fingerprint-resistant coating on the LCD screen.
In addition, the top and bottom edges have an
anti-reflective coating for clear visibility even in
strong sunlight. Images and menu text are all
easier to see and work with. Select PowerShot
models have an anti-reflective coating on the
surface of the LCD so images are vivid even
from wide angles. This Wide Viewing Angle
feature makes it easy to show your images to
a group of family, friends or colleagues.
* Not on all models.

VARI-ANGLE LCD SCREEN*
The screen conveniently flips out, allowing you
to tilt the LCD up or down to minimize reflections
or compose at unusual shooting angles. Rotate
