I have just bought a house with an ADP 4507 dishwasher. It’s French. The on button pushes in and the light goes on above the start button. But that button doesn’t push in or out. It just lights up. The machine is not starting

A non-functional start button on a Whirlpool ADP 4507 dishwasher could be due to the following issues:

1. Power Supply Issue: Ensure the dishwasher is properly plugged in and the power supply is working. If the appliance was switched off during a cycle, it should resume when powered on.

2. Door Not Closed Properly: The start button will not function if the door is not fully closed.

3. Control Panel Malfunction: If the electric indicator on the control panel is not working, the button may not register input.

4. Programme Not Selected: The start button only works after selecting a programme. Ensure a programme is set and its indicator lamp is lit.

5. Start Button Procedure: The start button must be pressed for 2 seconds to activate. If not held long enough, it may not function.

6. Mechanical or Electrical Fault: There could be internal faults in the start button mechanism or the control board.

Check each of these factors to diagnose the issue.
