GENERAL
This section contains descriptive and operational information covering the UXF-35
Series Life Preserver and Container Assembly. The UXF-35 Assembly consists of a
folded UXF-35 Life Preserver packed into a container pouch. A typical UXF-35 Life
Preserver and container pouch are shown in Figure 1.

Purpose of Equipment
The UXF-35 Series Life Preserver and Container Assembly is a manually
activated self-inflating Life Preserver packed in a sealed container pouch. The
packed UXF-35 assembly is stored for rapid, easy access aboard an aircraft,
ready for use by passengers and crewmembers in the event of any in flight, over
water emergency.

    UXF-35 Polybag Pouch The UXF-35 polybag pouch is used to retain and protect the folded life preserver assembly inside the holding compartment aboard the aircraft until needed. The container pouch is a standard polybag pack design. The transparent container material allows the data and logo markings on the folded vest to be viewed after the pouch is packed and sealed.
  • Page 7 UXF-35 LIFE PRESERVER, Part No. P01202-1XX UXF-35 Life Preserver The UXF-35 series life preserver is designed with an open area collar to be placed over the head and onto neck and shoulder area, so that the vest rest on the chest of the wearer. The vest is secured to the wearer using a harness strap.
  • Page 8 Harness Assembly The UXF-35 life preserver uses a harness strap to secure the vest to the wearer. The harness utilizes a 1” wide by 56” long belt strap webbing with a set of plastic buckle fasteners.

Open the container bag by pulling the tear strip away from the bag. Remove the life preserver from the bag. Open the life preserver.

See Figure 6. Oral Inflation System NOTE: The oral inflation system is used as a backup system in case of CO inflation system failure or for topping off the flotation chamber as needed due to gradual loss of inflation.

The performance test provides a functional equipment check to establish the ability of systems and components to perform required design function or before the reinstallation of life preservers removed from service.
