PREFACE PREFACE This service manual has been prepared to enable the service engineers approved by Hitachi High-Technologies Corporation to make an early diagnosis and remedy whenever a trouble occurs in the Chromaster 5420 UV-VIS Detector. If a trouble is predictable, its remedy will usually be easy, but unforeseen problems are generally apt to occur.
IMPORTANT Caution on Electromagnetic Wave Interference 1. Electromagnetic Wave Interference given by this Instrument to other Equipment The use of this Instrument may interfere with radio and television reception. Use the cables attached at the installation for connection between the devices in the system. The proper use of the specified cables minimizes Electromagnetic Wave Interference.
Product Warranty Hitachi High-Technologies Corporation guarantees Chromaster 5420 UV-VIS Detector only when it is used following the contents of Instruction Manual, being based on the specifications described in Instruction Manual, as follows. (1) Scope of Warranty When the Instrument has failed because of defective manufacturing, repair of Instrument is performed free of charge.

In unattended operation, do not use organic solvents having an ignition point below 70 C (Instruction manual Section 3.4, 3.6) Beware of ignition hazard when using flammable chemicals such as organic solvents. When installing the instrument, provide a proper means for preventing the instrument from tipping over accidentally.
