    EM-1 Configuration The EM-1 can be configured locally from the onboard membrane keypad, by dialling in remotely and entering programming sequences using a touch tone telephone or mobile handset, or by using an SD card for easy System setup – see System Setup via SD Card.

    1-9. One of the EM-1 units sharing the single telephone line must be set as Master and the remainder units set as Slaves. NOTE: The Master must be always connected and operational as this unit will be the primary call taker when multiple units are sharing the line.

    System Setup via SD Card The EM-1 can also be configured via SD card, rather than entering each command locally on the membrane keypad, or remotely via DTMF. This feature also permits users to deploy the same configuration across several installations or keep a record of their desired settings.

    Ensure the Alarm button is wired into the correct input. • Alarm button needs to be a dry contact, meaning when removed from the EM-1 there should be no voltage across the contacts. • Line receive signal too low Some systems can provide a lower receive path audio signal (dB).
