Overview
This document addresses positioning the K-Series solenoids for optimal operation. The K-Series countermarch
dobby requires solenoids to activate to disengage the dobby cables from lifting harnesses. Misalignment can
cause mislifting or misdropping of harnesses. This document addresses all conditions and their respective
adjustments.

Also note, it is very important to have the left treadle weight down when performing these procedures.

  • Page 5 AVL LOOMS AVL Looms, Incorporated 2360 Park Ave, Chico, CA 95928 Ph: 530-893-4915, Fax: 530-893-1372 www.avllooms.com, support@avlusa.com Solenoid In/Out Spacing Solenoid tip in/out spacing in relation to the dobby cables is a compromise of being close enough to control the cable within the U of the tip, yet far enough away to allow the solenoids to build strength as they extend during activation.
  • Page 6 2. Trace the solenoid wires back to the black plastic connector housing plugged into a daughter circuit board that is plugged into the main Compu-Dobby 5 circuit board. Cut the zip ties along the way free up the wires.

Pull each of the black plastic connectors from all of the daughter cards. 2. Unscrew the left and right side screws as indicated by the red arrows in the image below.
