OmniPL Extension Cable Kit
Background
The OmniPL Controller comes with a fixed 15 ft. length of cable to connect to the wiring panel. For longer runs, an HLXPL485100 (100 ft.) cable
extension kit can be used. These kits provide an outdoor rated extension cable allowing you to mount the Controller further away from the wiring
panel. The kit includes a connector for joining the Controller cable to the extension cable and a water resistant cover that will protect the connection.

The following instructions show how to make a weather resistant connection between the
OmniPL Controller and the HLXPL485100 extension cable. For new installations, follow
the procedure below.
For existing installations, remove input power completely to the OmniPL wiring panel. With
power disconnected, remove the deadfront panel to gain access to the Controller connec-
tion shown in the adjacent image. Disconnect the Controller and then proceed with the
instructions below.
Procedure
Follow the steps below.
1. Determine the mounting location for the Controller and make sure that there is enough
length for the connected cables to run back to the wiring panel. Connect the two cables as shown in diagram below.
2. After connecting the two cables, insert the connectors into the splice cover. Follow the instructions printed on the splice cover kit. When finished,
the connection should look like the diagram below.
3. Connect the extension cable to the OmniPL wiring panel as shown in the image above. Replace the deadfront panel and connect power to the
OmniPL.
